Now, let’s look at one particular type of publication: the article. An article is a piece of writing that describes something. But, here’s the question: What do we call an article? Well, in most cases, we just say “an article.” But sometimes we use specific words to refer to certain kinds of articles. Here are some examples:

The Complete Guide to the TOEFL Test

TOEFL stands for Test of English as a Foreign Language. This test measures how well you speak, read, write, and listen to English for International Students. You must take it if you want to study abroad, apply for university programs in America, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, or work in the United States for non-native speakers.

If you are taking the exam to study abroad, you will need a score report of 600 points out of 800 to receive your IELTS certificate. If you are applying for university programs, you will need a writing score of 550 points out of 740. For work visas, you will need an official score report of 575 points out of 780.

Here’s what you need to know regarding the format of the test:

There are four sections: listening, reading, writing, and speaking. Each section lasts for 25 minutes, and there is a 30-minute break after each section.

Listening Section: There are 40 questions in this section. You have 45 seconds to answer each question. At least 20 of those questions are multiple choice. The rest are true, false, or short answers.

What is the TOEFL Exam?

The TOEFL exam tests how well you speak English (your “language skills”). You are expected to read passages aloud and answer questions about what you just heard. This test measures your ability to listen, understand spoken language, read, write, and use grammar correctly (English Language Proficiency).

Part I: Listening

For example, let’s say there is a passage about the United States Constitution. One of the options is correct, another is incorrect, and the remaining two are wrong. If you select the correct option, you receive credit; otherwise, no credit is given.
