For example, applicants applying for an H-1B visa must be sponsored by a US employer, while those seeking employment within the US must file a petition with USCIS. First, let me start with a simple question: What does “immigration” mean? Immigration refers to people coming into the United States legally. There are three main ways to enter the US legally:

2. As a student or exchange visitor

3. Through employment

The vast majority of legal immigrants come through the third category. In fact, over 80 percent of legal immigrants come on employment visas like H-1Bs. These visas are given out by employers looking to fill jobs that Americans won’t take.

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), part of the Department of Homeland Security, announced that it will begin accepting applications for the EB-5 visa program beginning January 15th, 2020. This marks the first time since 2012 that USCIS has opened up the application process for the popular investor immigration program.

In addition to being able to apply online, applicants must now submit digital fingerprints along with their documents. Applicants are required to pay $495 to complete their application. In return, applicants receive conditional permanent resident status and a Green Card within two years.

Applicants must invest at least $500,000 into a regional center located in the state where they want to live. Once completed, the investment becomes eligible for federal tax credits.

What documents do I need to submit?

Student and Vocational Training Visas

The Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965 allows certain foreign nationals to work in the United States without being required to obtain a visa. These visas are known as “student and vocational training” visas.

Students and trainees must meet specific requirements to qualify for one of these types of visas. Students must be full-time students at an eligible educational institution.In addition, students must maintain good academic standing in school. They must also demonstrate financial need.

Trainees must show that they intend to pursue employment in a particular occupation. They must also prove that they possess skills that employers seek. This includes showing that they have completed a program of study that qualifies them to enter into a profession.

In addition to meeting the above criteria, applicants must also provide evidence that they plan to return home upon completion of their studies. This could include proof of a job offer or a promise to pay tuition fees.

Applicants must also submit a letter of support from a sponsor who meets specific eligibility requirements. Sponsors must be able to document that they are willing to help the student complete his or her education.

Students and trainee visa holders must apply for a visa within 30 days of arriving in the United States. Once approved, they can remain here up to three months while their application is processed. After that period expires, they must depart the country unless they receive approval to extend their stay.

The number of visas available each fiscal year depends on how many applications are received during the preceding fiscal year. If there are fewer applicants than visas available, some applicants may be denied entry.
