The Danish Immigration Service requires you to prove that you are eligible to work in Denmark prior to granting you a visa. You must provide documentation showing that you meet one of the following requirements:

Application Forms and Guidelines

- Two passport-size photographs

The Danish government announced Friday it plans to introduce stricter entry requirements for those seeking asylum in Denmark. Under the proposed changes, applicants must provide proof of identity and residence in their home countries, such as passports or national ID cards. They will also be required to show evidence of having been physically present in their home country for longer than three months. Applicants will also be asked to prove that they are unable to return to their home country because of persecution or fear of persecution based on race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group or political opinion.
Under current rules, applicants need only prove that they are unable or unwilling to return to their home countries due to persecution or fear of persecution. However, the new measures would require them to prove that they cannot return to their home countries because of these reasons.
Applicants who fail to comply with the new rules could face fines of up to $1,200 and/or deportation.
In addition, anyone granted refugee status in Denmark will be allowed to remain in the country for five years before being forced to leave. After this period, they will be able to seek permanent resident status.
In order to obtain refugee status in Denmark, applicants must first file an application at one of the country’s immigration offices. This process usually takes between two weeks and six months to complete. Once the applicant receives approval from the Immigration Office, he or she will then receive a letter confirming his or her refugee status.
Once granted refugee status, applicants will be given permission to work while awaiting their final decision on whether or not they will be granted permanent resident status.

Additional Requirements Based on the Purpose of Entry to Denmark
